How we rank these companies

These companies are ordered by their work-life score — a 0–100 rating we calculate from each employer’s published policies, averaging 79 across the 1,133 companies on this page.

  • Contracted hours carry the most weight — the fewer hours a full-time week actually is, the higher the score. A 40-hour week earns nothing here.
  • Remote and schedule flexibility comes next: whether the role is genuinely remote, how much say you have over your hours, and whether core hours are fixed.
  • Paid leave is scored above a 15-day baseline, so a statutory minimum adds nothing and a genuinely generous allowance does.
  • The schedule itself can add or subtract. A genuine reduced-day week scores positively; a full-week perk such as unlimited PTO scores negatively, because it is not a reduction in hours.

Every company starts from the same baseline and is scored on the policies recorded in its profile, so a company that publishes more detail is scored more precisely. The same score appears on that company’s own page. Read the full scoring rubric →

How we curate this list

We track employers and the schedule policies they publish, researched from public sources — 4-day weeks, 9-day fortnights, half-day Fridays, flexible hours, generous leave and more. This page refreshes daily. Read about our editorial standards → Know one we're missing? Suggest a company →

Everything you need to know about 4-day week jobs

This page ranks 1133 companies by work-life score — our own measure, built from published hours, schedule policy and time off rather than self-reported reviews. Employers near the top include &samhoud, 100 Percent, and 25hours Hotels. The full scoring rubric is published on our methodology page so you can judge the ranking for yourself.
Not all of them, and the distinction matters. Most companies here run a 4-day week at full pay, but the list also includes explicitly pro-rata arrangements where a shorter week comes with a proportionally reduced salary, and schedules such as 9-day fortnights where pay is the employer's call. Every company profile states which applies. We group them together because the shared property is genuinely reduced hours — not a shared pay basis.
A schedule that actually reduces working hours: 4-day weeks, 9-day fortnights, half-day Fridays, rotating 4-day weeks and summer Fridays. Perks that leave a full 5-day week untouched — unlimited PTO, flexible hours, no-meeting days — are listed elsewhere on the site but excluded from this page, because they change how you work rather than how much.
Companies on this page provide about 26 days of annual leave on average, on top of the reduced schedule — time off is separate from the shorter week. Some pair reduced hours with unlimited or generous PTO; others keep a standard allowance. Each profile lists the exact policy.
Many are. Each company card shows its current open roles, and every profile links to that employer's live listings. If a company has no vacancies right now it still appears here, because the page is a directory of employers with reduced-hours policies rather than a job board view — use the jobs pages if you want only companies actively recruiting.
