About Seatfrog
What is Seatfrog?
Seatfrog is a UK-headquartered rail travel app on a mission to "build a better future for billions of passengers and the rail companies that carry them." Founded in 2016, the company has reinvented two long-broken parts of train travel: same-day seat upgrades to First Class (now "affordable and lightning fast to over 870 destinations") and effortless ticket-time swapping between train journeys. Over 1 million customers have saved a collective £110 million using the app.
Seatfrog partners with 10 UK rail operators — Avanti West Coast, CrossCountry, East Midlands Railway, Grand Central, Greater Anglia, GWR, LNER, Northern, TransPennine Express, and Transport For Wales — and is positioning itself as "the ultimate travel companion and the only app you'll ever need when travelling by rail in the UK and beyond."
Where will I work?
Remote-first across the UK with an optional London hub at 35 Folgate Street. JDs list typical locations as "Northern Ireland | Scotland | United Kingdom | Wales" with "Remote: UK" overlay. Monthly all-expenses-paid team days bring the distributed team together: "We're remote first, but our monthly, all-expenses-paid team days help us to catch up, connect, and collaborate."
What is the Seatfrog team like?
A small (~29-person), tight-knit team that hires for both A-player capability and personality. Self-described as "strategists, creatives, coders, schemers, dreamers" who share "an insatiable curiosity to not just accept how things have been done." JDs emphasise "ours is a culture with spirit and substance and our people are empowered to make the bold decisions others wouldn't and haven't." The team holds itself accountable to "build a stellar team to achieve our audacious goals."
Testimonial from Rob (Senior Software Engineer) captures the mission appeal: "I previously worked for a fast-growing FinTech but never really felt I was doing any real good in the world. At Seatfrog I'm playing a part in encouraging people to use public transport, reduce their carbon footprint and all whilst enjoying themselves. I get so much more fulfilment from that."
Work-Life Balance
The headline number is striking: 80 days holiday a year — "Yes, your eyes don't deceive you. 80 days off to see the world, open your eyes and be a better human." Combined with the 4-day work week ("when you work smart, surrounded by the best people, every weekend can be 3 days"), this is one of the most generous time-off envelopes in UK tech. Salary bands are transparent on JDs (e.g. Lifecycle Growth Marketing Strategist: £75-85k).
