About Nmbrs

What is Nmbrs?

Nmbrs is an HR and payroll software company built around a permanent four-day workweek and a flat, no-managers organisation. The team is direct: "At Nmbrs, we don't have managers, but you're never on your own. Our coaches help you grow, learn, and get the best out of yourself — exactly the way you want to."

Nmbrs is "a fast-growing scale-up building innovative HR & payroll technology" and serves the Netherlands and Sweden through two product lines (Nmbrs Business + Nmbrs Accountant), with HR features (expense declarations, digital signing, HR workflows, leave registration, employee engagement) and payroll features (AI Assistant, Direct payment, Interactive payslip, Payroll workflow, Run check). The company is part of Visma, a Norwegian-headquartered enterprise software conglomerate.

Where will I work?

Nmbrs operates from three offices: Amsterdam (HQ, an open bright space with a rooftop event stage and an in-house "restaurant"), Lisbon (Santos neighbourhood, with a balcony, rooftop and barbecue overlooking the river), and Stockholm (inside Visma Sweden's main premises). Roles are hybrid: most JDs require the Netherlands as the work location, with hybrid working flexibility from the Sloterdijk-area Amsterdam office.

The Nmbrs Exchange Program lets colleagues relocate to either Lisbon, Amsterdam or Stockholm for up to 4 months as part of normal employment. Relocation support is offered for some roles for new hires moving country.

What is the Nmbrs team like?

The team is 160+ colleagues across Amsterdam, Lisbon, and Stockholm with 20+ nationalities — Dutch and Portuguese founders shaped the company's "Dutchguese" cultural mix. Nmbrs is hiring across multiple roles (Data Analyst, People & Culture Business Partner, Project Coordinator, .NET Software Developer Summer Internship, Event Marketeer, Business Consultant) — most posted in Amsterdam, with the Portugal team running an internship pipeline.

The culture is one of experimentation, ownership, and personal growth: "We experiment, make mistakes, we launch early and make it better. To grow, we need to adapt fast and embrace change (and make mistakes!)." Personal-development support is structured but employee-led — "a flat company does not mean flat growth, but it means the growth ambition has to come from you and we will help facilitate you to get there."

Work-Life Balance

The four-day workweek is the standard at Nmbrs — "for us, full-time means working a 4-day week, giving you one day to focus on what matters most to you." The flat organisation removes managerial overhead; coaches replace traditional reporting structures.

The Amsterdam office is pet-friendly: "Bring your best furry friend to work. We have a pet friendly workplace." As part of Visma, employees access a wider range of training, events and professional networks.
