About Simprints

What is Simprints?

Simprints is a nonprofit tech company based at the University of Cambridge with a mission to "radically increase transparency and effectiveness in global development." The company builds ethical, inclusive digital ID powered by biometrics — verifying that health, aid, and services truly reach the people they're meant to help.

Founded in 2013, Simprints partners with organisations like Gavi (immunisation), Ministries of Health like Ghana's (pandemic response), and NGOs like BRAC (maternal healthcare). The impact is measurable: studies show Simprints increased maternal health visits by 38% in Bangladesh and accurate HIV tracing by 62% in Malawi. To date the company has worked in over 17 countries delivering health, aid, and finance to more than 4 million people.

Where will I work?

Remote-first across six target countries: UK, Ghana, Ethiopia, Poland, Bulgaria, and Romania. The legal entity is based at 406 Milton Road, Cambridge, but roles are designed remote-first and JDs are typically location-flexible within those countries. International travel to partner Ministries of Health and NGO clients is part of senior partnership roles.

What is the Simprints team like?

A 44-person team that explicitly mixes technology and global-development backgrounds, recognised externally as a Great Place to Work and the 2025 Best Workplace for Women (among other accolades). Five competencies guide how "Simployees" work: Confront The Grey (transparency and radical candour with psychological safety), Leave our Egos at the Door (curiosity, kindness, positive attitude), Find a Way (clear strategies, adapt quickly, keep moving), Remember Why We're Here ("impact for people comes first"), and Celebrate the Difference (compassion, empathy, inclusive spaces).

Simprints alumni have gone on to Google, USAID, Gavi, and Save the Children, reflecting the depth of training and exposure during tenure. The hiring process is explicitly two-way: "candidates have the opportunity to interview the company as much as the company interviews them."

Work-Life Balance

Simprints operates a 4-day workweek — "everybody has the option to have Fridays off" — combined with unlimited annual leave: "as long as you're driving results and fostering teamwork, we encourage you to strike that perfect balance between your professional and personal life." Productivity is measured via semi-annual board reviews to confirm the model's success.

The "Mutual Flex" policy adds a third dimension: "autonomy and trust are paramount... whether it's managing life's essentials like healthcare appointments or adapting work hours to match your peak productivity times, we've got you covered. In return, we count on your reciprocal flexibility when mission-critical moments arise."
