Who We Are

Our vision is simple: to create a flexible cloud platform created by developers, for developers. We believe you should spend less of your time managing environments and hosting platforms, and more time coding – after all, that's what we always wanted. At Civo, we're committed to simplifying cloud infrastructure so developers can focus on what they do best: building great applications.

Our Story

Civo was born from a team with decades of experience in the hosting and data centre sector. Mark Boost, our CEO, was the founder of LCN.com, which grew to become the 5th largest hosting company in the UK before being sold in 2019.

Back in 2018, while building a cloud platform for LCN.com, we identified a critical gap in the market: the need for a community-led cloud platform focused purely on Kubernetes. Born from necessity, this insight marked the beginning of Civo.

In 2019, we made history by launching the world's first K3s-powered, managed Kubernetes service into beta – a groundbreaking moment in cloud infrastructure.

The beta was a tremendous success, and over the following 18 months, we continued to improve and refine the Civo platform based on community feedback and evolving developer needs. Today, we're proud to serve a global community of developers who value simplicity, speed, and reliability.

Civo Kubernetes significantly reduces complexity, making it straightforward to build and manage your applications without the overhead typically associated with container orchestration.
