About Ecare
What is Ecare?
Ecare ("Ecare voor de zorg") is a Dutch health-tech company that builds software for the care sector. Its product, PUUR., is a smart electronic client record (ECD/EPD) used daily by thousands of care professionals: "PUUR. hét slimme ECD voor goede zorg." The platform serves disability care, elderly care (VVT) and specialist mental healthcare (S-GGZ) — "innovatieve softwareoplossingen … voor de gehandicaptenzorg, ouderenzorg en GGZ" — and connects everyone around a client so messages from a GP, a hospital or back-office colleagues all flow through one source system.
The goal is less administration and more time for care. Ecare frames its mission around the roughly 350,000 Dutch care workers it wants to free up ("Jij en 350.000 andere Nederlandse zorgverleners"), and counts care organisations such as Vivium Zorggroep, Estinea, Mijzo, Patyna and Buurtzorg among the providers using PUUR.
Where will I work?
Ecare is based in Enschede (Overijssel), in the east of the Netherlands — every current vacancy is listed there. Most roles are hybrid or on-site, working in small, multidisciplinary teams alongside developers, a tester, a Product Owner, a UX designer and a Product Specialist.
What is the Ecare team like?
Ecare describes itself as a forward-looking team that values "nieuwsgierigheid, nuchterheid en lef" — curiosity, level-headedness and a bit of nerve. Engineering is a strong core: the stack spans C# (.NET) on Azure, React (and some Angular), and Docker/Kubernetes, with Kanban, feature flags and trunk-based development, plus room to explore newer technology such as LLMs and micro-frontends. Roles run from full-stack and AI software engineers to product owners, network-care specialists and new-business roles for the VVT and GGZ markets. It's deliberately a place of short lines and shared ownership — "Je denkt mee, stelt vragen en draagt bij aan de keuzes die we maken."
Work-Life Balance
Ecare runs a company-wide four-day week. A full-time week is 32 hours with Fridays off — its job descriptions state it plainly: "Je werkt 32 uur per week (vrijdag vrij)" and "Een fulltime vierdaagse werkweek dankzij onze efficiënte werkwijze" (a full-time four-day week thanks to our efficient way of working). The reduced week applies across engineering and commercial roles alike, at full salary, and is presented as a product of working efficiently rather than longer.
