At Ecare, you won't be building yet another standalone software system.
You will be building PUUR. Behandel: new functionality that enables treatment professionals and care teams to collaborate from a single client file. No separate care and treatment files, but information and functionality around the same client brought together.
You don't start with a blank slate. The platform, the architecture, the clients and the key core functionalities of PUUR. already exist. At the same time, the new product team is at the beginning. That is exactly where your role lies.
The role
As an AI First Software Engineer, you work in a new multidisciplinary team with a Product Owner, a care domain expert, an architect, QA and another software engineer.
AI First means that at every step of the development process you deliberately assess what AI can add. From analysis and design to programming, testing, code review and data challenges. You use AI where it helps you develop faster or better, and deliberately choose a different approach when that is more sensible. You remain responsible for the quality and understand and control what you deliver.
In the first product phase, the team works for about 4.5 months toward a usable pilot. We try not to build everything at once. Together we determine a feasible scope and develop treatment functionality that is safe, works in daily practice and forms a good foundation for further development.
You are responsible for:
-
Developing new treatment functionality within PUUR.
-
Building with C#, .NET and React within our Azure environment.
-
Connecting to the existing architecture, platform services and client data.
-
Using AI for, among other things, analysis, programming, testing, code review and data challenges.
-
Assessing when AI is and is not the best approach.
-
Checking, testing and keeping under control software developed with AI support.
-
Thinking along about technical choices, priorities and scope.
-
Collaborating with treatment professionals and care organisations to test functionality in practice.
What makes this role different from many other software roles:
-
AI is not an experiment alongside your regular work, but a fixed part of your development process.
-
You don't just add new features to an existing product. You help build a new product domain from the start.
-
You don't have to first set up a complete platform. The technical foundation is there, so you can quickly build the product.
The challenge lies in balance: you create momentum and make maximum use of AI, but remain personally responsible for quality, safety and maintainability.
What makes this role interesting
-
You help build PUUR. Behandel from the start.
-
You bring care and treatment together in a single client file.
-
You work on an existing technical foundation and on a completely new product domain.
-
You have considerable influence on the way the new team uses AI.
-
You work with modern technology such as .NET, React and Azure.
-
You work with a Product Owner, domain expert, architect, QA and software engineers.
-
You have direct contact with the practice you are developing for.
-
You work toward a product that will actually be used in a short time.
-
You directly see what your work means for treatment professionals, care teams and clients.
-
You have approximately three to four years of relevant experience as a software engineer.
-
You have experience with C#, .NET and backend development.
-
You have experience with React and are willing to work full stack.
-
You have experience with Azure, CI/CD, DevOps and automated testing.
-
You have used AI daily within professional software development for at least one year.
-
You have brought software to production in which AI was part of your development process.
-
You can explain when you do and especially when you do not use AI.
-
You understand and check the code you develop with AI support.
-
You think about architecture, quality and maintainability.
-
You adapt easily when new AI tools or ways of working prove to be better.
-
You communicate clearly and enjoy working intensively with others.
-
You have a good command of the Dutch language.
-
You are willing to work on average half of your working time at Ecare in Enschede.
Experience with care software, an electronic client file or treatment files is a plus, but not a requirement.
This is not a role for an AI or machine learning specialist who develops or trains models. We are looking for a software engineer who has demonstrably integrated AI into the daily way of developing.
