About Town of Queen Creek
What is the Town of Queen Creek?
The Town of Queen Creek is the municipal government of Queen Creek, Arizona — one of the fastest-growing municipalities in the Phoenix metro area. Incorporated on September 5, 1989 with around 2,500 residents, the town passed 59,500 at the 2020 census and roughly 83,700 by 2024. It began life as the railroad community of Rittenhouse, took its name from the Silver Queen Mine near Superior, and its agricultural roots (cotton, corn, potatoes) are still part of its identity — the town even produced a PBS award-winning mini-documentary, "From Rittenhouse to QC", for its 25th anniversary. Queen Creek spans two counties (Maricopa and Pinal), borders Mesa, and sits ten minutes from Mesa Gateway Airport.
Where will I work?
Queen Creek Town Hall at 22358 S. Ellsworth Road. The four-day week is structural: the town's own contact page lists identical hours for Administration, Municipal Services, Development Services and Public Works — "Monday - Thursday, 7 a.m.-6 p.m. Closed Friday - Sunday". Four ten-hour days, then a three-day weekend, every week.
What is the Town of Queen Creek team like?
A growing civic workforce ("One Town. One Team." is the official tagline) across development services, public works, utilities, recreation and the town's own Fire & Medical department. Recent civilian postings include a Management Analyst supporting the Town Council, a Deputy Director of Information Technology and a CIP Inspector. We list the town's civilian professional roles; sworn public-safety and field-trades positions run their own duty rosters and are excluded from our feed.
Work-Life Balance
The town's own careers page puts it plainly: its culture is "manifested within our organization, with employee benefits such as a four-day work week, paid volunteer and regular team-building events." A compressed week here isn't a perk one team negotiated — the buildings are closed three days out of seven.
