What You'll Do Design and execute policymaker engagement strategies that strengthen Spotify’s relationships across priority jurisdictions, with a focus on New York City, New York State, and other key states. Develop expertise on public policy issues with commercial and reputational importance to Spotify, including tax, artificial intelligence, content moderation, and emerging policy matters. Identify and assess priority state and local public policy issues affecting Spotify, and partner with your manager and US Government Affairs colleagues to develop effective advocacy strategies. Collaborate with teams across Spotify, including Legal, Communications, Social Impact, Product, Compliance, and Trust & Safety, to understand business priorities, develop clear policy narratives, and shape approaches to key policy issues. Build relationships and partnerships with external organizations, including trade associations and civil society organizations, to advance engagement and thought leadership on priority public policy issues. Represent Spotify with policymakers, government officials, industry peers, and other external stakeholders in support of the company’s policy priorities.
Who You Are You have 5+ years of experience developing and implementing public policy or government affairs strategies and working with policymakers or other public policy stakeholders. You have experience working in government, the private sector, a trade association, or a related public policy environment. You have built strong relationships with policymakers and understand how to develop trusted relationships with officials in New York City, New York State, and other priority jurisdictions. You have experience developing public policy strategies related to the technology sector and can translate complex policy developments into clear business implications. You have experience engaging senior government officials, private-sector leaders, and public policy professionals. You can develop and execute effective advocacy strategies while balancing multiple stakeholders and priorities. You communicate clearly in writing and conversation and can adapt your approach for policymakers, business leaders, and cross-functional partners. You build collaborative relationships across functions and levels, approach problems with sound judgment and integrity, and are comfortable operating in a changing policy environment. You are able to travel throughout the United States as needed, including occasionally on short notice.
