Social Sciences & Government Information Librarian

The Social Sciences & Government Information Librarian ensures that Syracuse University Libraries' collections and services support the academic and research needs of the students, faculty, and staff in sociology, anthropology, economics, and related social science disciplines. Additionally, the Librarian supports campus users from a wide variety of disciplines seeking information produced by government entities, such as U.S. Federal Agency datasets, legislation, regulations, or other documents.

The Librarian provides essential subject-focused services, including reference assistance, information literacy instruction, and collection development, and serves as the libraries' outreach point of contact for users affiliated with the assigned academic departments. In addition to the subject-focused services, the Librarian is a member of the Collections Team within the Department of Research and Scholarship. The Team is responsible for providing programming and support to promote, analyze, and develop the libraries collections in all formats and across all disciplines.
