As a Security Guard, you ensure the professional and proper protection of our site and make sure that all employees in our logistics center feel protected and safe. Together with an international team of security experts, you support crime prevention and investigative activities. You actively advocate for the protection of our company values and strengthen the security culture at our site.
Your work is shaped by a motivating team spirit based on appreciation, respect and openness. Together with your team, you work both toward achieving daily operational goals and toward improving processes. WHY THE ROLE IS EXCITING FOR YOU
- You are responsible for access and entry control, monitor our building via video systems, manage our alarm and emergency call systems, and handle locking duties. In addition, you manage access rights and oversee key management for guests and external partners.
- You also take on general administrative tasks.
- Based on our operating regulations, you carry out numerous security checks. These include, among others, personal checks of employees when entering and leaving the operational area, as well as locker and vehicle checks.
- In the event of alarms, you coordinate external rescue and security services and carry out protective measures. You are also responsible for theft prevention measures. In case of rule violations, you secure evidence and prepare reports, observe suspicious persons, and intervene in criminal acts. If necessary, you provide first aid and initiate fire protection measures.
- You also secure difficult conversations, conduct patrols including reporting, and support service tasks such as creating ID badges for employees or managing lost property.
- You take full responsibility for your tasks and continuously build your knowledge and skills to steadily improve our security processes together with the team.
WE WOULD LOVE TO GET TO KNOW YOU IF
- Ideally, you have successfully completed the expert examination according to §34a GewO and hold additional qualifications in first aid and/or fire protection. You also bring at least 2 years of professional experience in dealing with people and in administrative activities.
- You have PC skills, and working with organizational spreadsheets is familiar to you.
- To fulfill the diverse tasks of a Security Guard, you stand out through teamwork, a high willingness to perform, and physical and mental resilience. You are also willing to complete and successfully finish our internal Zalando training "Zalando Security". Learn the basics of communication, prevention techniques and deployment tactics, as well as first aid, fire protection and how to use our security technology.
- You find it easy to get into new software. You look forward to working with Google Workspace, various apps and web tools to keep track of all processes and document them correctly.
- You are a strong communicator and pass on your knowledge clearly, sustainably, and adapted to the knowledge level of your colleagues. With your good German skills, both spoken and written, you create error-free reports. Basic English skills at A2 level simplify communication within the team and enable excellent security service in the shift system.

Our employees in logistics ensure that more than 50 million customers in 25 European markets receive smooth and reliable service every day. We developed our logistics center in Mönchengladbach entirely in-house, from A to Z. The site, which opened in 2013 with an area of 130,000 square meters, sets new standards for the industry and combines next-generation infrastructure with intelligent thinking and a great team spirit.
