About the role
As Shift Leader within our HSE - Fire Safety and Rescue team, you help ensure the safety of people, facilities and activities at the industrial site. You manage the operational handling of rescue interventions, take part in risk prevention and support teams in complying with safety standards. Main responsibilities:
- Ensure the safety of people and property by carrying out rescue, first aid and firefighting interventions
- Coordinate the initial emergency response actions until handover to authorized managers, and supervise the site's intervention teams
- Carry out safety and security patrols, fire, gas or intrusion alarm verifications, and ensure rescue equipment remains operational
- Take part in risk prevention actions, field inspections, evacuation drills and crisis management exercises
- Check and validate permits for high-risk work and monitor the associated safety measures
- Implement the control measures required for special interventions and supervise operations presenting specific risks
- Train and raise awareness among employees on fire safety and rescue procedures, and contribute to writing procedures and operating methods
- Write intervention reports, take part in incident investigations, and provide reporting to the Fire and Rescue Operations Manager
About you
- Experience: Experience in fire safety, personal rescue or industrial risk prevention; experience as a professional, volunteer or military firefighter is strongly preferred
- Technical and interpersonal skills: Knowledge of fire safety, emergency management, risk analysis, first aid and prevention
- Ability to work in a team, make quick decisions and communicate effectively in crisis situations
- Rigor, sense of responsibility and a strong safety culture
- Ability to intervene in the field in a demanding industrial environment
- Education: Training in safety, risk prevention, fire safety or an equivalent certification
- Languages: Fluent French; practice of English is an asset
