Key accountabilities

Establish collaborative strategies with academic departments, key library departments (e.g. research facilitation, special collections, acquisitions and collection development, and teaching and learning), and relevant campus centers and programs to lead liaison librarians in exploring, planning, delivering, and assessing forward-looking research support strategies. Mindful of current trends related to research and publication practices in arts and humanities fields, create opportunities and guide liaison librarians as they connect and engage with discipline-specific and interdisciplinary programs and centers.

In partnership with relevant Libraries’ departments, cultivate teaching and engagement partnerships across Dartmouth. Enable liaison librarians to connect and engage directly, proactively, and productively with faculty, students, and the broader academic community. Establish collaborative strategies to assess the Libraries’ impact on student learning.

In partnership with the acquisitions and collection development team and the collections management and preservation team, advise and recommend on school, divisional, and disciplinary-based needs to guide collection development and management in the arts and humanities. May support one or more departments through direct liaison and collection development responsibilities.
