About Us:
We're on a mission to make it possible for every person, team, and company to be able to tailor their software to solve any problem and take on any challenge. Computers may be our most powerful tools, but most of us can't build or modify the software we use on them every day. At Notion, we want to change this with focus, design, and craft.
We've been working on this together since 2016, and have customers like OpenAI, Toyota, Figma, Ramp, and thousands more on this journey with us. Today, we're growing fast and excited for new teammates to join us who are the best at what they do. We're passionate about building a company as diverse and creative as the millions of people Notion reaches worldwide.
Notion is an in person company, and currently requires its employees to come to the office for three Anchor Days (Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays).
About The Role:
This Finance Business Partner (FBP) role will drive workflow transformation across the FBP team to reinvent our processes and will also support Notion’s Foundation teams, including Finance, People, Workplace, Legal, IT, and Business Technology. This role reports to our Business Partnership Finance Lead and will deliver real-time financial insights, build scalable planning/reporting workflows with AI-enabled automation, and drive strategic analysis that enables the company to scale thoughtfully. The ideal candidate has an understanding of core FP&A processes and a builder mindset, improving forecasting and spend management through better systems, data, and processes with AI experimentation at the forefront.
What You'll Achieve:
-
Strengthen our operational infrastructure by identifying and driving systems and process improvements. Streamline planning and close workflows, improve forecast accuracy, and reduce manual reporting effort by reimagining recurring FP&A workflows with AI.
-
Partner with Foundation leadership, including the CFO, Chief People Officer, and General Counsel, to drive critical business decisions that impact all Notinos. Build trusted relationships and proactively surface insights, risks, and opportunities.
-
Build and own financial models, including real estate capacity and headcount unit economics modeling. Use AI tools and drive automation to make analysis more scalable, repeatable, and self-serve for Foundation teams.
-
Partner with Corporate Finance, Accounting, and cross-functional teams to deliver monthly and quarterly reporting and forecasting. Ensure accurate, timely reporting, providing clear variance explanations, and translating results into actionable recommendations for executives and functional leaders.
-
Execute ad hoc analyses and time-sensitive requests with strong judgment, speed, and attention to detail; bringing a strong sense of agency, pace setting, and a bias for action to drive clarity and impact.
Skills You'll Need to Bring:
-
3-6 years of experience in FP&A/Strategic Finance, accounting, investment banking, private equity, or a combination
-
Familiarity with AI tools such as Claude Code, Gemini, or Codex. You don’t need to be an AI expert, but you’re curious and willing to adopt AI tools to work smarter and deliver better results
-
Experience with financial modeling, forecasting, budget vs. actuals, annual planning and long-range planning
-
Comfortable partnering directly with senior leadership and building cross-functional relationships
-
Positive attitude and a high aptitude for learning new things quickly; a team player eager to develop and grow with us
-
Intellectual curiosity, strong problem-solving skills, and a desire to continually up-level current approaches and processes
-
Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail — “get it done” attitude
Nice to Haves:
-
Experience with a high-growth SaaS company
-
Experience partnering with G&A functions such as Finance, People, Workplace, Legal, IT, and Business Technology
-
Experience with real estate capacity planning, lease analysis, CapEx, benefits, and/or headcount costs
-
Experience with NetSuite, Workday, Zip, and planning tools (Pigment, Adaptive, Anaplan)
-
Working knowledge of SQL, Python, Apps Script, and/or other automation tools & languages
