About Western Municipal Water District
What is the Western Municipal Water District?
Western Municipal Water District ("Western Water") is both a wholesale and retail water agency serving nearly one million people across 527 square miles of western Riverside County, California — from Corona to Temecula, including Riverside and Norco — with retail service to around 25,000 connections. Serving the region since 1954 as a Metropolitan Water District member agency, it is one of the largest public agencies in Riverside County. Its general manager holds court-appointed watermaster roles under the 1969 Santa Ana River adjudications, and the district is one of five member agencies of the Santa Ana Watershed Project Authority, operating the Western Riverside County Regional Wastewater Authority plant.
Where will I work?
District headquarters at 14205 Meridian Parkway, Riverside, with treatment and field sites across the service area. Around 150 staff work in engineering, water resources, finance, IT, customer service and operations.
What is the Western Water team like?
A mid-sized district that invests visibly in its people: BEST/PACE employee-recognition programs, annual cost-of-living adjustments, and longevity pay from five years of service. Recent postings include an Automation Services Supervisor and a Water Quality internship.
