About Veeam
What is Veeam?
Veeam builds data resilience and data-security software: backup, recovery and data-security posture management across on-premises, cloud, SaaS and Kubernetes environments. The company now describes itself as "the Data and AI Trust Company, specializing in helping organizations ensure their data and AI are fully understood, secured, and resilient to enable the acceleration of safe AI at scale." Its own account of the origin story is unfussy: "The Veeam story starts in 2006 with a small but mighty group of data-driven engineers armed with passion, smarts, and the conviction that there had to be a simpler way to back up data in your virtual machines." Veeam is headquartered in Seattle and says it has offices in more than 30 countries.
Where will I work?
Widely, and often from home. On the US side: "Our U.S. presence includes the global HQ in Seattle, WA, and hubs in Tempe, AZ; Alpharetta, GA; Columbus, OH; and San Jose, CA — plus flexible remote roles." Outside the US, Veeam names Prague as "one of Veeam's largest Engineering hubs", Bucharest as "one of Veeam's largest in Europe", plus Warsaw, Bangalore, Pune, Mumbai and Delhi, and San José in Costa Rica as "our strategic nearshore hub for the Americas". A large share of open roles are posted as remote, but remote here means country-scoped rather than work-from-anywhere. A Prague listing spells it out: "Remote job is only possible in case the employee is located in the Czech Republic."
What is the Veeam team like?
Veeam runs on five values that spell out its name: Veeam team, Elevate and innovate, Empower customers, Act with accountability, and Make every conversation matter. The first sets the tone: "We operate as one team, united in our shared purpose. Acting inclusively and trusting each other, we power forward together as one." Culture is actively maintained by "Culture Champions — a global network of passionate volunteers". Development is structured rather than ad hoc: named leadership programmes (Manager Foundations, Manager Matters, Veeam Ascent, Veeam Aspire) sit alongside "on-demand libraries (LinkedIn Learning, O'Reilly), mentoring, workshops and learning events like our annual Global Day of Learning".
Work-Life Balance
Veeam is explicit that "benefits are tailored to each local market", and time off is the clearest example. US postings offer "Unlimited paid time off, 12 paid holidays including 4 global VeeaMe Days for self-care and 24 paid volunteer hours annually through Veeam Cares." Outside the US the allowance is a fixed figure: 25 paid vacation days in the UK, 25 vacation days plus 4 sick days and 21 paid medical leave days in Czechia, and 30 vacation days in Germany. VeeaMe Days are global, described as "company-wide closures allow everyone a day off each quarter, to rest and recharge." Nothing across the careers site or the current openings describes a four-day week, a 32-hour week or compressed hours.
