What is Unqork?
Unqork describes itself as an "AI-first enterprise application development platform" — software that lets large, heavily regulated organisations build, test and run complex applications without hand-writing and maintaining brittle code. In its own words, Unqork "was founded to help customers reliably and securely manage complexity while controlling the costs of building and operating resilient enterprise systems." Its job adverts say the platform is "trusted by the world's largest organizations in highly regulated industries", naming Goldman Sachs, Marsh, BlackRock and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services among its customers, and pitch applications that "become more secure over time while significantly reducing technical debt — allowing businesses to focus on innovation rather than maintenance." The company is led by founder and CEO Gary Hoberman.
Where will I work?
Remote-first, across the United States. The careers page is direct about the model: "Many of our roles are remote-first, but we also offer flexibility for local employees to work out of our Union Square NYC headquarters." It adds that "some teams enjoy the opportunity to collaborate in the office a few days a week, while others operate entirely remotely", so the arrangement varies by team and is spelled out on each posting. Pay uses a two-tier geographic model — Tier 1 covers the New York Metro, Seattle Metro and San Francisco Bay Area, Tier 2 is "all other US and US territory locations" — and salary ranges are published on every advert.
What is the Unqork team like?
Unqork organises its culture around five values it calls "Qorks": We are Human First, We are one team, We take initiative, We are driven to deliver, and We bring the energy. They are not decorative — the company says they are built into interview questions, performance-management cycles and quarterly Qork Awards. Roles span engineering, DevOps, applied AI, product and customer-facing teams, and postings consistently ask for "an AI-forward mindset". Eight Employee Resource Groups — among them Womxn of Unqork, Queer Qorks, Unqork Veterans, Unqork Access and Caregivers of Unqork — are open to everyone "regardless of whether they identify as a group member".
Work-Life Balance
Every live advert carries the same line: "Unlimited PTO (and the encouragement to use it)". The careers page frames it identically — "Take the time you need to maintain a healthy work-life balance." Alongside leave, Unqork lists "Generous Paid Parental Leave", a monthly stipend "toward your WFH setup, vacation, development and more", and wellness perks covering ClassPass, emotional wellbeing and employee discounts. Unqork does not publish a four-day week, a 32-hour week or any compressed-hours schedule.
