About Tennr
What is Tennr?
Tennr automates the paperwork that decides how fast a patient actually gets seen. In its own words: "Today, when you go to your doctor and get referred to a specialist, your doctor sends out a referral and tells you, 'They'll be in touch soon.' So you wait. And wait. Sometimes days, weeks, or even months." Tennr's proprietary models read incoming referral documents — including, pointedly, faxes — extract and verify what matters, and push the work downstream so "providers get paid" and "operators get patients the right care, at the right time, in the right setting."
The founders "met at Stanford working on advanced AI and LLM research. Now that foundation powers a system that processes over 10m documents per month." The company is deliberately unfashionable about its market: "healthcare technology companies need to meet providers where they're at — faxing isn't the problem."
Where will I work?
One office: 345 Hudson St, Floor 4, New York, NY 10014, in Hudson Square. Postings ask candidates to "collaborate with like-minded, driven individuals in our Hudson Square office 4 days/week", and one adds "Join us in-person four days a week at our spacious office in Hudson Square (with the fifth day remote-optional)". That is an office-attendance policy — a normal full working week, four days of which are on site — not a shortened or compressed schedule. Every live role is New York-based.
What is the Tennr team like?
Direct, fast and unapologetic about it: "If you're smart, fast, and not afraid to speak your mind, you'll fit right in." Six values set the tone — Conviction ("If it's not a hell yes, it's a hell no"), Clarity ("Everything we do depends on clarity of thought, speech, and writing"), Problem Obsessed, Confrontation ("If you believe we are ever on a path towards failure in any part of the business, discuss it with the right person directly and act decisively"), Courage, and Cowboy ("You set the pace. Do the thing instead of just talking about it"). The founding team — CEO Trey Holterman, CPO Diego Baugh and CTO Tyler Johnson — is still in place alongside a full executive bench.
Work-Life Balance
Tennr publishes "Unlimited PTO" on its careers page and in the benefits block of every live posting, alongside "Competitive parental leave". The counterweight is the in-person expectation: four days a week in the office, with free lunch and "a pantry stocked with a strangely wide array of puffed corn snacks". The careers page groups perks under "Benefits & Growth Opportunities" and lists "Promoting from within" among them.
