What is StartEngine?
StartEngine is transforming the way companies secure funding by helping them raise capital directly from the crowd — the leading equity crowdfunding platform in the U.S. The platform supports three primary offering types: Regulation A+ offerings (open to all investors), Regulation D offerings (Rule 506(c)) (accredited only), and Regulation Crowdfunding offerings (JOBS Act Title III) (open to all investors).
StartEngine operates through regulated affiliates: StartEngine Capital LLC (a funding portal registered with the SEC and a FINRA member) and StartEngine Primary LLC (a broker-dealer registered with the SEC and FINRA / SPIC). The platform also runs StartEngine Marketplace with secondary trading and bulletin board features.
The growth has been substantial: 236% YoY increase in the amount raised on the platform and 256% YoY increase in the number of first-time investors. The company "doubled our team in 2020" and is still hiring.

StartEngine is entirely remote since the pandemic — "We prioritize the health of our employees! Since the pandemic, we've gone fully remote. Need an office? No problem! We can get you a WeWork pass." The legal HQ is in West Hollywood, CA.

The team spans engineering, product, sales, marketing, and compliance — with the dual demands of fast-moving consumer fintech AND the regulated reality of broker-dealer + funding-portal operations.
