About Splice

What is Splice?

Splice calls itself "a creative platform for people who make music". Its home page leads with "The industry's top sample library—royalty-free for all", a catalog of samples and presets that works inside any digital audio workstation (DAW), with subscriptions "from $4.99". Around it sit INSTRUMENT, "the most accessible, creator-first virtual instrument", and a rent-to-own marketplace ("Pay as you go — no interest — full software licenses for 130+ tools"). The About page describes a "sound-first approach" with "a vast library of high-quality sonic ingredients, powered by sophisticated AI tools", and links coverage of a partnership with Universal Music Group. Its Greenhouse board on 2026-10-16 listed six roles: a Data Engineer II, a Staff Data Analyst, a Senior Product Designer II for Growth, a Designer for Brand and Marketing, and two contract roles, a Corporate Development Contractor and a Junior Freelance Video Editor.

Where will I work?

Every Splice posting says "Splice embraces a culture of remote work. You'll see your colleagues showing up from across the US and the UK." The four employee roles are listed as "Remote - U.S.", and the benefits block promises "Work remotely or connect at our office hubs and creative spaces worldwide." To keep a distributed team working well, the postings say "we have regular communication, including Town Halls, departmental all-hands and get-togethers." The contract roles are different: the Corporate Development Contractor is open to England, United Kingdom or Remote - U.S., and the Junior Freelance Video Editor is paid per video, so neither carries the employee benefits.

What is the Splice team like?

The postings explain how the team works with an acronym: "DISCO is a rallying cry for collaboration, accountability, and unity within our organization; Direct, Inclusive, Splice Together, Creator Centric, and Optimistic." They add that "Our shared success depends on our ability to support one another, work well together, and communicate directly." The benefits block mentions "team ambassador opportunities" and "vibrant Employee Resource Groups", and the Data Engineer II posting says the role will "Participate in on-call rotation; triage and resolve incidents including ETL failures", so some engineering roles carry out-of-hours responsibility. Salaries are published: $90,640 to $113,300 for the brand designer, $94,952 to $118,690 for the Data Engineer II, and about $160,000 to $200,000 for the Staff Data Analyst and the Senior Product Designer II.

Work-Life Balance

All four employee postings list "Time Off: Unlimited PTO to recharge and thrive." The postings do not say whether there is a minimum, so how much time people actually take is for candidates to ask about. Parental support is spelled out: "12 weeks of fully paid parental leave for non-birthing parents, and 18-20 weeks for birthing parents." Work is remote or at an office hub, with no set office days stated. The contract roles are paid by the month or by the video and carry no PTO.
