About Runwise
What is Runwise?
Runwise is a New York energy-technology company that sells wireless controls for building heating systems. Its home page says the controls are "Installed wirelessly in your building in one day or less" and reports 10,800+ Runwise-powered buildings and 1000+ customers; its heating, cooling, gas-leak and toilet-monitoring products are sold to building owners and property managers. A posting calls it a "fast-paced New York City-based energy startup", and the careers page says the team believes it can be a great company by "making every city in the world radically more affordable, sustainable, and healthier" while it will "focus on results...not output".
Where will I work?
The office roles are in New York, where the SDR posting says candidates must "commute to our office in Midtown". All five office postings on 2026-10-17 list a "Hybrid work environment" among their benefits, and the SDR role adds "4 days a week in office". The Chicago business development role is described the other way round, as a remote sales opportunity with most of the time spent prospecting. The board also lists three hourly field technician roles in New York, Boston and Chicago, which install the controls on site and provide service calls; they are on-site work and are not carried here.
What is the Runwise team like?
The postings share a short list of beliefs: "No job is too small. Sincerity builds trust. Setbacks fuel progress. Efficiency is vital." The sales team is account-based: the Business Development Manager posting says each BDR "owns a list of about 150 strategic accounts", and the SDR role pays on target earnings with "uncapped commission". The Customer Success Associate posting is straightforward about the seasonal pace, asking for someone "willing and capable of working very hard and at times longer hours during peak season (winter)".
Work-Life Balance
All eight open postings list "Summer Fridays" in their benefits, including the technician roles. None says which Fridays, how many or when the day ends, so this profile claims the named benefit and no particular finish time. Six of the eight also list "Flexible PTO" without stating a number of days, and five of the eight list a hybrid work environment. The five office postings add free in-office lunch on Wednesdays, and three of them list a monthly learning and development series.
Perks and Benefits
The fuller benefit lists name medical, dental and vision insurance with HSA and FSA options, paid parental leave, access to Talkspace and Health Advocate, commuter benefits, a 401K, company-paid life insurance and voluntary supplemental life insurance. Employee resource groups include a DEIB Committee and a Run Club. The postings publish pay: the Customer Success Associate role lists $70,000-$80,000, the Sales Development Manager $80,000 to $100,000 base, and the Business Development Manager $100,000 to $120,000 base plus commission.
