About Runway
What is Runway?
Runway is an AI research company building foundation models for video and world simulation. Its Gen-series models and creative tooling let filmmakers, studios, advertisers and everyday creators generate, edit and direct video with AI — and its research sits at the frontier of world models, "merging art and science" as the company puts it.
Founded in 2018 and headquartered in New York, Runway has raised major venture rounds (Series D in 2025) and runs dedicated research, product, and creative divisions including Runway Labs and Runway Studios.
Where will I work?
Mostly anywhere: the large majority of Runway's open roles are advertised as Remote, with hubs in New York, San Francisco, London and Tokyo for those who want an office.
What is the Runway team like?
A ~430-person team spanning ML research, engineering, product, creative and go-to-market. The culture pairs frontier research with a working style built around trust — time off is genuinely encouraged (see below), which is not a given at AI labs.
