What is Roboflow?
Roboflow builds the tooling developers need to make computer vision work in production: dataset annotation, hosted model training and GPU access, low-code workflows, and deployment that runs "on device, at the edge, in your VPC, or via API". Roboflow Universe adds one of the largest open collections of vision datasets and pre-trained models.
The framing is deliberately big: "AI is the most transformative technology of our lifetime, giving machines the ability to see and interpret our world. At Roboflow, we believe anything that can be seen will be turned into software." Job listings put the mission more bluntly — "to make the world programmable." Over 1 million developers build with its tools, including teams at more than two-thirds of the Fortune 100, on work spanning "redefining sports broadcasting at Wimbledon to detecting production flaws at Rivian to tracking containers at BNSF Railway". Roboflow has raised "$63M+" from investors including Google Ventures and Y Combinator.
Where will I work?
Roboflow is "a distributed company with dedicated offices in NYC and SF, where many teammates choose to co-work regularly". Listings describe hubs in New York City, San Francisco and Sao Paulo, and roles are commonly posted as "NY, SF or Remote (US)". You can work from a hub (there is a relocation stipend), from home, or from a co-working space. New hires "begin with time spent in-person at one of our hubs during their first few weeks".
What is the Roboflow team like?
Small relative to its impact, and unusually candid about itself. Roboflow's own listings quote a team member: "Roboflow is a company full of giant brains and tiny egos." The first value is "full-stack people" — "own outcomes, not only inputs" — with engineers expected to drive adoption and go-to-market people expected to shape product direction. The mascot is a raccoon, chosen because raccoons are "curious", "willing to get hands dirty", "dislike cages (autonomy is important here)" and "often run in groups".
Work-Life Balance
Roboflow describes itself as "remote-first / flexible schedule" and is careful about what that means: "Flexible schedules are not about working less or asynchronously all the time. They are about working in a way that allows the team to stay fast, connected, and effective across geographies." In practice Roboflow "primarily operates during the daytime hours in the US and there are some synchronous meetings you'll be expected to attend each week"; beyond those, the schedule "allows you to work collaboratively with other team members and asynchronously when needed."
Time off is listed as "Unlimited vacation" on the careers page and, in job ads, as "Unlimited PTO (with a 2-week annual minimum)" — the annual floor is the useful detail. Twice a year the whole team gathers for all-company onsites.
