River is a U.S.-based Bitcoin technology and financial services company on a mission to build the world's most trusted financial institution by empowering people to take ownership of their financial lives through Bitcoin. River offers Bitcoin brokerage with zero-fee recurring orders, full-reserve custody, mining services, and a Bitcoin wallet supporting both on-chain and Lightning Network transactions.
The company also provides an interest-bearing cash account (USD earns interest paid in Bitcoin, FDIC-insured, no fees or minimums) and dedicated white-glove support for larger clients. Founded in 2019 by Alexander Leishman and Andrew Benson, River serves both individual and business customers via its mobile app and river.com.

100% remote option available within the Americas and Europe, with offices in San Francisco, NYC, and Columbus OH for those who prefer in-person work.
What is the River team like?
Approximately 150 employees across software engineering, security, payments operations, customer success, and Bitcoin custody. River has raised $70M total, including a $35M Series B (May 2023, led by Kingsway Capital, with participation from Peter Thiel, Goldcrest, and Valor Equity Partners).
