What is Rhymetec?
Rhymetec is a New York cybersecurity and compliance firm that builds and runs security programs for its clients, many of them SaaS and cloud businesses. "In 2015 I was riding around NYC on my bike, delivering Google Homes to offices of companies I wanted to work with," says founder and CEO Justin Rende. "What started with 1 client quickly turned to dozens and since then Rhymetec has served more than 1,000 clients spanning companies of all sizes from startups to enterprises." It was founded as a penetration testing company, by 2017 was focused on pen testing and vCISO services for SaaS businesses, and passed 100 customers in 2018. Its managed services now include vCISO, ISO/IEC internal audits, gap assessments and GRC platform development; its offensive security work covers penetration testing of web and mobile applications, APIs, networks and cloud environments, LLM pentesting, phishing simulations and red team exercises. It helps clients comply with frameworks including SOC 2, ISO/IEC, PCI DSS, FedRAMP, HIPAA, GDPR, NIST, CMMC, DORA, NIS2 and the EU AI Act, and it partners with Vanta. In 2023 Rhymetec won a Global InfoSec Award and a Globee Award for "Disruptor Company in Cybersecurity Services"; it was named a High Performer in G2's Fall 2026 report for managed security services providers and cybersecurity consulting, and is an Official Small Business Partner of the Brooklyn Nets.
Where will I work?
Anywhere in the US. "The Rhymetec team works fully remote from anywhere in the U.S.," the careers page says. "We stay connected throughout the year with regular team calls and planned offsites." Some roles prefer New York or the Eastern time zone: the Senior Cyber Security Analyst is "Remote (U.S., New York Preferred)" and notes "This role is fully remote", and the Security Program Manager is "Remote (U.S., New York / EST Time Zone Preferred)". Travel is light; the administrative assistant to the chief information security officer can expect "no more than quarterly travel" to offsites. Rhymetec also hires a GRC analyst in the London area on a separate UK package; this profile describes the US offer.
What is the Rhymetec team like?
Built In lists 33 employees, 23 of them in product and tech. A junior cloud compliance analyst says they "enjoy that every day is different – from performing daily tasks to taking part in tabletop exercises and assisting clients in their compliance journey", and an account executive values "the autonomy to cultivate my own book of business."
Work-Life Balance
"Balance is important to fostering a strong workplace," Rhymetec says. "We offer generous PTO, sick time, parental leave, paid holidays, and Summer Fridays so our team can be present and committed to life outside of work." US postings list PTO and sick time "including 11 paid Holidays", and two of the three current US postings name Summer Fridays. Rhymetec doesn't publish which months its Summer Fridays run or what hours they cover. The whole US team is remote, and regular team calls and planned offsites keep it connected.
