What is Pogo?
Pogo describes itself as "a consumer research platform built on purchase-verified buyers, running AI-moderated interviews and quantitative surveys for insights teams at consumer brands, retailers, and investment firms." The research product sits on a panel that came from its consumer app, launched in 2020, where "3M+ Americans opted in" and are "paid for the data they choose to link." Its About page says the panel covers "1 in 150 US shopping trips" and that Newsweek ranked the app the number one loyalty app in the United States in 2024 and 2025. Customers named on the site include Hershey, Nestlé Purina, The Trade Desk and Bain & Company. The careers page says the company was started "six years ago" on the belief that "people should earn from their own data."
Where will I work?
The careers page says "Fully Remote in the US or Canada; HQ in Brooklyn, NY", and every open posting is listed as United States/Canada remote. The team is "spread remotely across the country", but Pogo says "it's important to spend quality time in person as a group", with off-sites "every four months" at the NYC HQ or a "fun destination". The benefits also mention lunch "every Wednesday in the office".
What is the Pogo team like?
The careers page describes "a tight-knit team with prior experience starting businesses from scratch and rapidly scaling them to millions in revenue", and says "We give feedback openly and transparently" and "We believe great ideas come from everyone." The postings are unusually candid. Each includes a "Why you might not be excited about us" section that says priorities "may shift quickly", there is no structured management "(yet!)", and the company lives "a value called 'Calculated Speed'", shipping weekly. Backers named on the careers page include the founders of Honey, Carta, Front and Rent the Runway.
Work-Life Balance
Pogo offers "Unlimited vacation days, with 20 days per year minimum to ensure that you take time off to recharge your batteries!", which is a stated floor rather than a pure unlimited policy. The expectation of hours is also stated plainly in the postings: "We expect more than 9 to 5 — raw hours make an impact at our current stage. That said, we trust each team member to create a flexible work schedule that allows them to be most productive while accommodating other priorities outside of work." That line appears in every role posting. Family leave is "12 weeks of fully paid leave for new parents."
