What is Phillips 66?
Phillips 66 is a diversified energy manufacturing and logistics company headquartered in Houston, Texas. Founded in 1929 and re-established as an independent company in 2012 (when it spun off from ConocoPhillips), Phillips 66 has refining, midstream, marketing, specialties and chemicals operations across the U.S. and abroad.
The company processes crude oil and natural gas liquids into transportation fuels, lubricants, and petrochemicals; operates extensive pipeline and storage infrastructure; and markets fuels under the Phillips 66, 76, and Conoco brands.
Where will I work?
HQ in Houston, Texas, with refineries, terminals, midstream sites and corporate offices across the U.S. and internationally. The 9/80 program is offered at certain corporate offices and select operational sites; field operations and refinery shift roles run different schedules.

Approximately 14,000 employees globally, including refining and chemicals operators, engineers, commercial/trading staff, and corporate professionals.
Work-Life Balance
Phillips 66 explicitly maintains a formal "9/80 Program" as documented on its corporate Total Rewards / Pay & Time-Off Policies page: "Phillips 66 is committed to helping employees balance work, family, and personal obligations by offering a 9/80 compressed workweek. With the 9/80 program (available at certain sites and corporate offices), eight (8) nine-hour days and one (1) eight-hour day is worked over two weeks, which permits an eligible employee to have every other Friday off."
The program is not available to temporary, intermittent, store employees, employees who already work 10–12 hour shifts, or employees covered by a collective bargaining agreement. There is also a "9/80 Program Policy and FAQs" reference document.
