About Pave

What is Pave?

Pave is a compensation platform built around "perfecting the art and science of pay." Its vision is stated bluntly: "we are working to unlock a labor market built on trust," and the team mission is "to build confidence in every compensation decision." The product line spans real-time market data and benchmarking, compensation planning, a team view for managers, a total rewards portal and a visual offer letter — and Pave now presents itself as "the AI compensation platform." Founded in 2019 "with a clear purpose and a team that has never wavered from it," Pave says it has "grown into a global force in compensation management," with a platform "used by more than 8,000 client organizations."

Where will I work?

Pave is "headquartered in San Francisco's Financial District, with regional hubs in New York City's Flatiron District, Salt Lake City, Kraków (Poland), and the United Kingdom," alongside remote team members. It is upfront that the culture is an in-person one: "we run a hybrid culture that brings teams together in person 3 to 4 days a week." The careers site names the days: "If you live near our offices in San Francisco, New York City, or Salt Lake City, we'll ask you to work onsite Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday." Wednesday is not named among those onsite days. Most current openings sit in San Francisco and New York.

What is the Pave team like?

Pave organises itself into three pillars — R&D, Go-to-Market and G&A — and calls itself "a highly cross-functional company that values deep collaboration." Five values run through it: "one team, intellectual honesty, play to win, uphold the Pave platinum standard, and hug of jawn," with intellectual honesty defined as "truth over comfort. We face reality clearly and speak directly, even when it's hard." Two rituals stand out. Every Friday the whole company gathers for an hour-long Team Sync: "breakfast, new hire welcomes, product updates, fireside chats, and yes, the occasional Kahoot." Once a year, Hack Week brings the R&D team to San Francisco to "pick passion projects and dive in." Offices run on meal stipends and "fully stocked kitchens." Hiring is deliberately transparent: "a majority of our roles have 3 to 5 interview rounds," and candidates "can expect to hear back from our team within 7 days of application, as well 2 days after each interview round."

Work-Life Balance

Pave does not run a four-day or compressed week — nothing on its careers site or job board mentions one, and the published expectation is three to four onsite days. Flexibility sits instead in time off and location. The careers page lists "flexible paid time off," and job ads promise "Time That's Actually Yours: Flexible PTO and the freedom to work from anywhere in the world for up to a month — because life doesn't pause, and neither should you." For bigger life events, Pave offers "robust parental leave so you can be fully present for the moments that count."
