What is Onehouse?
Onehouse builds a managed data lakehouse. It was founded in 2021 by Vinoth Chandar, the creator of Apache Hudi — the open table format that began at Uber and became one of the three major open lakehouse standards.
The company's pitch is interoperability: rather than committing an organisation's data to a single vendor's format, Onehouse ingests and manages data once and makes it readable across Hudi, Iceberg and Delta, so teams can use Snowflake, Databricks, or open query engines against the same tables.
Where will I work?
Onehouse is remote-friendly across North America and India, with a Silicon Valley base — listings note that "some roles will be subject to in-person requirements in alignment with the needs of the business".
What is the Onehouse team like?
Around 70 people: distributed-systems and Kubernetes engineers, open-source maintainers, developer advocates and an enterprise sales team. It is an unusually open-source-native company — a good chunk of the engineering happens in public.
