About OHSU Foundation
What is the OHSU Foundation?
The Oregon Health & Science University Foundation is the 501(c)(3) organisation that secures and stewards philanthropic support for OHSU — Oregon's only academic health center, home of the Knight Cancer Institute and Knight Cardiovascular Institute. The Foundation's fundraisers, gift officers and operations teams turn donor generosity into research, education and patient care.
Where will I work?
The Foundation is based in Portland, Oregon, with a flexible, hybrid-friendly work environment — most roles work a hybrid schedule (roughly 1–2 onsite days a week for many positions), and benefits include a hybrid work allowance.
What is the OHSU Foundation team like?
A ~140-person professional fundraising organisation spanning major gifts, individual giving, donor relations, finance and operations. Professional development dollars are allocated to every employee.
Work-Life Balance
In the Foundation's own words: "we have a flexible work environment for those who prefer a hybrid work schedule, and we close early on Fridays during the summer." On top of the summer Fridays, time off is genuinely generous — 22 days of paid vacation, 11 paid holidays, a float holiday and 2 volunteer days (34+ total days a year).
