What is Nambucca Valley Council?
Nambucca Valley Council is the local government for the Nambucca Valley on the New South Wales Mid-North Coast — a coastal-valley area of about 20,000 people taking in Macksville, Nambucca Heads and Bowraville, halfway between Sydney and Brisbane. Established in 1915 (and renamed from Nambucca Shire Council in 2020), the council runs water and sewerage, roads and bridges, waste, land-use planning, parks and holiday parks, and asset and infrastructure management for a growing coastal community. Local colour: Nambucca Heads' V-Wall — a breakwater of hand-painted rocks — is a famous landmark, and Macksville is the hometown of cricketer Phillip Hughes.
