About Music Vine
What is Music Vine?
Music Vine is one of the world''s leading music licensing platforms for video professionals and agencies. The platform represents some of the most esteemed and exciting independent musicians in the world, with clients ranging from revered marketing agencies and global brands to independent filmmakers and hobbyists. The mission, verbatim from the about page: "to make the finest, most expressive music accessible to productions of all shapes and sizes."
Music Vine was born in 2015. The company started as a vision to democratise music licensing and to make it refreshingly straightforward to find the right tracks. In 2021, the team launched Uppbeat — a second platform that has gone on to serve over 4 million users across 5 different asset categories. Together, the two platforms give online creators and pro filmmakers the tools they need to make brilliant content.
The music catalog is deliberately refined: "fresh, diverse and full of character" with a focus on real performances, real instruments and real emotion. The team is selective about talent-scouting, prioritising "the human touch" over typical stock music feel.
Where will I work?
Music Vine is based in Leeds, UK, at Tailors Corner, 1 Thirsk Row, Leeds, England, LS1 4DP. The team works hybrid — verbatim from the Senior Product Manager JD: "Hybrid working from our Leeds office (minimum three days per week)". This applies to current openings across product, engineering, design, and operations.
What is the Music Vine team like?
Leadership comprises Lewis Foster (CEO) and Matt Russell (Managing Director). The team is described as "a vibrant team of musicians, designers and technical wizards" — "a hive of creatives, musicians, developers & marketeers". The culture is framed in the Senior PM JD: "We''re a tight-knit team based in Leeds, and we care deeply about what we build. We value transparency, ambition, and thoughtful execution. Everyone here has a real say in how the product evolves - and we take that seriously."
Three named mantras shape how the team operates: "Cherish our community" (artists and content creators at the beating heart of the platforms), "Empower creators" (the crux of the mission), and "Give people something to love" (amazing things happen when work is something people love).
Work-Life Balance
Music Vine operates a 9-day working fortnight as a trial — verbatim from the Senior Product Manager JD: "9-day working fortnight (trial in place)". The team works flexible hours alongside the 9-day fortnight, with 28 days holiday including bank holidays per the JD. Wellbeing support is provided through a monthly contribution to Juno (verbatim from the JD).
Client testimonials describe the catalog as filmmaker-built — "The site feels like it''s a music licensing library made by filmmakers who have understood the challenges of scoring and editing within a budget" (Fstoppers). The "Family first" perk shows up in the careers page perks list as part of the culture.
