About Mint Velvet

What is Mint Velvet?

Mint Velvet is a British womenswear retailer. Its Modern Slavery Statement says: "Mint Velvet began in 2009 when founders Liz Houghton and Lisa Agar-Rea set out to create an unfailingly chic collection of contemporary, great quality staples and elevated fits that they felt were missing from their wardrobes." It is a retailer of own-brand womenswear, footwear and accessories collections, selling online in the UK and internationally, through third-party websites, in boutique and outlet stores and in department-store concessions in the UK and Ireland. The employing company is Sabre Retail Fashion Limited, which trades as Mint Velvet.

Where will I work?

The head office is in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, and all ten roles with the summer-hours line are head-office roles listed there: buying, merchandising, finance, data and analytics, and creative content. The adverts give the office pattern: "Hybrid working, 2 days per week in office" for the Data Lead, "Hybrid working, 2-3 days per week in office" for the Commercial Finance Analyst, and three office days for the Videographer & Editor, including some travel to London studios. The maternity-cover roles ask for more office time, up to four office days a week. Mint Velvet also hires for its boutiques and concessions across the UK and Ireland; those store adverts carry no summer-hours line and are not covered by this profile.

What is the Mint Velvet team like?

The company's 2025 Modern Slavery Statement (approved 11 December 2025) counts 150 employees at the High Wycombe head office, 709 in boutiques and concessions across the UK and 63 in Ireland, all directly employed, so head office is about one in six of the people. The adverts say: "Our leadership teams and founders sit amongst the teams and encourage a culture of balance and passion." The careers page lists five values, With Soul, Courage & Resilience, Passion & Drive, Collaborative and Entrepreneurial Spirit, and says "Profit isn't our only measure of success". The adverts also describe a fast paced and growing business with a high-performance culture.

Work-Life Balance

Ten head-office adverts, across buying, merchandising, finance, data and creative roles, state the summer hours: "Summer hours - 3pm finishes every Friday throughout June, July & August". The months and the finish time are both stated. The usual finish time and weekly hours are not given, so the size of the saving is not stated. All ten adverts add an early finish on pay day and 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, and six of them also give a day off on your birthday. Eight of the ten adverts give an office pattern, hybrid from two office days a week upwards depending on the role.
