About Matik
What is Matik?
Matik makes software that builds presentations, documents and reports straight from a company's data. It pulls from the dashboards, reports and systems a business already runs, such as its BI tools, CRM and data warehouse, and turns them into "on-brand, insight-rich content" in Google Slides, PowerPoint or PDF, using if-then logic and AI "to ensure the right insights & messages are shared". Its site pitches it to customer success, operations, analytics, enablement and finance teams, and its 2021 funding announcement named sales and customer success teams as its core users. Nikola Mijic and Zak Stein founded Matik in San Francisco in 2019, and it names Okta, Asana, Autodesk, Samsara and Zapier among its customers. In October 2021 it raised a $20 million Series A led by Andreessen Horowitz, with Menlo Ventures, BoxGroup and Oceans Ventures also investing. Its mission: "Transforming the way people work by automating the generation of repetitive data-driven narratives."
Where will I work?
Wherever suits you. Matik's careers page says you can "Choose if and when you come into our San Francisco office", and its current posting offers "a fully remote working environment with flexible working hours". That posting, for a senior demand generation manager, is listed as "San Francisco / Remote". Matik pays for lunch every Friday "no matter where you are!", and staff get a home office stipend, reimbursement for home office equipment, a stipend for home internet and a new Mac laptop.
What is the Matik team like?
Matik has four stated values: trust, compassion, quality and customer first. "Trust is the most important thing we can have with our customers and colleagues," the careers page says. "It is rooted in consistency over time and must be something we always work to maintain." On compassion: "We all come from different backgrounds and perspectives. As such, we should all actively strive to understand these perspectives without bias or judgment." Its stated aim is "to make data accessible to all people", and it describes itself as "growing quickly". Staff quoted on the careers page talk about "incredible colleagues who share a common goal" and a mix of "collaboration, innovation, and a supportive community". The one role open now is a senior demand generation manager reporting to the head of marketing, which Matik describes as "a high ownership role for someone who can think strategically and execute efficiently".
Work-Life Balance
Matik gives every other Friday off during the summer. Both its careers page ("Every other Friday off during summer") and its current posting ("Unlimited PTO, plus every other Friday off during the Summer") say so, though neither says which months count as summer. The rest of the year comes with unlimited PTO and, according to the posting, flexible working hours. Matik doesn't publish weekly hours.
