What is Livingstone Shire Council?
Livingstone Shire Council is the local government for Queensland's Capricorn Coast, headquartered in the beach town of Yeppoon and serving about 39,000 people north of Rockhampton. Re-established in 2014 (the original shire dates to 1879), the council manages water and wastewater reticulation, rural roads and infrastructure, waste, planning, coastal and catchment environmental management, community programmes — and signature public assets like the Yeppoon foreshore and lagoon, the gateway to Great Keppel Island.
