Leidos Holdings, Inc. is a US-headquartered Fortune 500 defense, intelligence, civil, and health technology firm based in Reston, Virginia. Founded in 1969 as Science Applications Incorporated (SAI) and rebranded after a corporate split in 2013, Leidos generates ~$16.7B in annual revenue (2024) and employs around 47,000 people globally. The company is publicly listed on the NYSE under LDOS.
Leidos operates through four main divisions: Defense & Intelligence, Civil, Health, and Advanced Solutions. Its work spans national-security IT and cyber, advanced engineering, healthcare IT (notably the MHS GENESIS electronic health record system used by the Department of Defense), border-protection systems, and scientific research.
Where will I work?
Most Leidos roles are US-based. The HQ is at 1750 Presidents St, Reston, Virginia, with hundreds of program sites across the country, including major operations in Northern Virginia, Maryland, Florida, Texas, California, and Alabama. Some roles are remote-friendly; many require US security clearance and on-site presence at federal facilities.
