Hugging Face, Inc. is the open-source AI + ML community and platform — sometimes called "GitHub for machine learning." Founded in 2016 in New York by Clément Delangue, Julien Chaumond and Thomas Wolf (originally as a chatbot startup, pivoted to AI tooling in 2018), the company hosts 1.5M+ machine-learning models, 250K+ datasets and 750K+ Spaces (live ML apps). Core products include the Transformers library, the Hub, Inference Endpoints, AutoTrain and Spaces.
Where will I work?
Hugging Face is incorporated in the US (NYC) but is fully remote-first and distributed globally. Most engineers and ML researchers work from anywhere in the world with significant async culture — many are based in France (Paris), the US, the UK, Germany, India and Canada.
What is the team like?
Around 730 employees globally across ML research, engineering, product, design, community, partnerships, customer support and operations. The team is one of the most influential in open-source AI/ML; Hugging Face has been instrumental in democratising access to state-of-the-art models (BERT, GPT-NeoX, LLaMA derivatives, FLUX, Stable Diffusion etc.).
