What is Garage?
Garage is building the platform that powers commerce across America's essential industries. It started by serving fire departments, where buying mission-critical vehicles and equipment used to take months of paperwork, phone calls and waiting, and it automates the entire transaction — payments, freight, paperwork, warranty and financing — so that, in the company's words, "months become minutes." Operating as a marketplace for specialized vehicles and equipment (its listings range across fire pumpers, tankers and ambulances), Garage has expanded fast: in under a year it now serves local governments across all 50 states and has grown revenue more than tenfold.
The company (legal name Garage Technologies, Inc.) recently closed a $13.5M Series A, bringing its total raised to $18M, from Infinity Ventures, Y Combinator, Initialized Capital, FJ Labs and other investors. It describes itself as early, well capitalized and moving fast.
Where will I work?
Garage is headquartered in New York City, and its current openings on the Ashby board are all NYC-based. For people relocating to join, the company offers relocation assistance. Garage is candid that this is a ground-floor opportunity: new joiners are among its first 35 employees and work as foundational members of the team, partnering directly alongside the founders.
