About Front
What is Front?
Front is a customer operations platform for B2B teams: a shared inbox and omnichannel workspace with ticketing, live chat, a knowledge base and AI layered on top. The company positions itself bluntly — "Most tools were built to dodge complexity. Front was built to dominate it... We're the customer operations platform for B2B teams who deal in high stakes and hard problems." Its own about page reports "9,300+ businesses worldwide," "130+ integrations," "300+ team members across 5 offices," and "$204M venture funding from Sequoia, Salesforce Ventures, Battery." Front was founded in 2013 by Mathilde Collin, who led it as CEO for over a decade and is now Executive Chair, alongside CTO and co-founder Laurent Perrin. Dan O'Connell has been chief executive since 2024.
Where will I work?
Front publishes a specific hybrid pattern in every job ad: "Front operates on a hybrid model — we come together in the office each Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday to collaborate and stay connected," with "Flexibility to work from home Monday and Friday, unless posted as a fully remote role." Five offices are listed — San Francisco, Paris, Chicago, Dublin and Santiago — and the careers page adds that "Fronteers work remotely from Portland, Phoenix, Australia, and many more destinations around the globe." Current openings reflect that spread, including fully remote engineering and AI roles based in Argentina and Chile.
What is the Front team like?
Hiring today concentrates in engineering, product and design — applied AI, developer platform, React Native mobile, design engineering — plus sales and customer success, and a smaller marketing and G&A group. Six values run through Front's published culture book: collaboration, transparency, care, low ego, high standards and speed. Transparency is unusually operational there: "Everyone's calendars are default public so you know how everyone spends their days," board decks are shared internally after every board meeting, and post-mortems go out company-wide. The same book states, "We rarely have large meetings. We are thoughtful about who needs to be involved and trust each other to make the best decisions for the company's success."
Work-Life Balance
The published time-off policy is a "Flexible time off policy" — the careers page phrases it as "Flexible time off: Relax and recharge with our generous PTO policies." No day count is published, and Front does not use the word unlimited. Two structural additions sit on top: "Wellness Days — Fronteers get an additional day off on months with no holidays," and "Winter Break — Our offices are closed from Christmas to New Year's Day." Day to day, the Monday and Friday work-from-home split is the main flexibility lever. Front also funds a "$100 per month Lifestyle Stipend to spend on fitness, health and wellness."
