About Farther

What is Farther?

Farther is a US registered investment adviser that pairs wealth advisors with software it builds itself. On its own careers site the company frames the goal as "building a generational financial institution that helps people achieve their goals," and describes the product as an "Intelligent Wealth Platform" that is "built from the ground up to unlock greater wealth" and gives "clients and advisors smarter insights, faster decisions, and a seamless wealth experience that no off-the-shelf tool can match." Farther was founded by Taylor Matthews (Co-Founder and CEO, previously on the leadership team at ForUsAll) and Brad Genser (Co-Founder and CTO, previously at Goldman Sachs, where he "founded and led an AI team dedicated to Private Wealth"). The company has announced a "$150M Series D led by General Atlantic."

Where will I work?

Farther publishes its model as "Flexible Work: Many roles offer remote flexibility, while some are hybrid based on team needs. We're clear about expectations for each role." The live job board bears that out: most openings are labelled hybrid out of New York, Dallas or Irving, Texas, with a further set posted fully remote — including advisor and relationship-manager roles anchored to cities such as Miami, Boston, Scottsdale and Telluride. The careers page names NYC, SF and Dallas as the main hubs. New hires "are set up with the equipment they need to do their best work — setup varies by role and location."

What is the Farther team like?

Two populations sit side by side: wealth advisors with the client-service teams around them, and a product and engineering organisation building the platform — mobile, test infrastructure, an AI-native data platform and investment tooling. Farther's values are grouped under the acronym CARE: Communication, Action, Respect, Excellence, spelled out in instructions as direct as "Speak up but listen well. Don't be afraid to disagree" and "When in doubt, act." The company is deliberate about language, publishing that it says "Clients not customers" and "Colleagues not employees." Hiring is a published six-stage process ending in a three-to-four-hour "Farther Day," and Farther commits that every candidate gets a decision.

Work-Life Balance

Farther publishes "Unlimited PTO" and describes it as "A formal policy — take the time you need to recharge. We work hard and want you to fully enjoy your time off," on top of "10 paid holidays throughout the year." Parental leave is "Generous paid leave for new parents, regardless of gender." Offsites are a stated ritual: "We take our teams out of their element and into new cities. From Nashville to Savannah to Chicago." Nothing on Farther's site or job board mentions a four-day week, a 32-hour week or compressed hours.
