About Emesent
What is Emesent?
Emesent builds autonomous mapping technology for places people should not have to go. Spun out of Australia's national science agency CSIRO in 2018, its flagship product Hovermap turns drones and handheld scanners into self-navigating LiDAR systems that survey underground mines, tunnels, stockpiles and complex industrial sites — including GPS-denied environments where conventional survey methods fail.
The company works with mining, infrastructure and emergency-response organisations worldwide, and has raised roughly AUD $43M to scale its hardware and data platform.
Where will I work?
Emesent is headquartered in Brisbane, Queensland, and its open roles are Brisbane-based.
What is the Emesent team like?
Around 150 people spanning robotics and software engineering, product, commercial and a hardware manufacturing function. Job listings describe "a passionate and collaborative team building world-leading technology" with "genuine learning and development" opportunities.
Work-Life Balance
Every Emesent listing that carries the full benefits block leads with the same line: "9-day fortnight - every second Friday off". Staff work their fortnightly hours across nine days instead of ten and take every other Friday off — 26 extra days away from work a year, on top of annual leave.
