What is EDB?
EDB (Enterprise DB) is the company behind the world's most-deployed enterprise distribution of PostgreSQL. Founded in 2004, EDB builds the data platform that thousands of Fortune 500 companies, governments, and ISVs run their mission-critical systems on — covering Postgres engineering, AI/analytics extensions, cloud-managed services (EDB BigAnimal), and migrations from legacy Oracle / SQL Server.
EDB employs ~850 people and is the largest dedicated contributor of code to the upstream Postgres project. In late 2024, EDB was acquired by Bain Capital to accelerate its enterprise AI data platform roadmap.
Where will I work?
EDB is remote-first. The company closed its long-standing Bedford, Massachusetts office in 2022 and now runs as a distributed team across North America, EMEA, and APAC with optional gathering spaces. New hires can be based in any country where EDB has an employing entity; current openings span the US, UK, India, Japan, and more.
