About dunnhumby

What is dunnhumby?

dunnhumby is a customer data science company that works with retailers and brands. Its job adverts say it has "nearly 3,000 experts across Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas" and that it partners with businesses "like Tesco, Coca-Cola, Meijer, Procter & Gamble and Metro". Its own website says it has "35+ years of experience in customer data" and splits its careers into five departments: Data Science, Technology & Product, Media, Corporate, and Retail & CPG Expertise. The live Greenhouse job board lists 60 roles across 41 teams, from engineering, applied data science and product through to media sales, client success and finance.

Where will I work?

London is the base: the contact page lists the London office at 184 Shepherds Bush Road, Brook Green, London W6 7NL, and 21 of the 60 live roles are there. Gurgaon (India) has 15 roles, with the rest spread across the United States (Bentonville, Minneapolis, Grand Rapids), Canada (Toronto, Montreal), Ireland (Dublin), Brazil (Sao Paulo), Colombia (Medellin, Bogota), Hungary, Slovakia, Czechia, South Africa and Dubai. Nineteen adverts carry a "Hybrid" label in their header, some UK adverts say "We operate a hybrid working approach", and the India adverts refer to a "blended working" allowance. None of the adverts say how many days are spent in the office.

What is the dunnhumby team like?

The adverts describe "a nimble, small-business feel that gives you the freedom to play, experiment and learn", and list employee networks including "dh Gender Equality Network, dh Proud, dh Family, dh One, dh Enabled and dh Thrive". The careers page features returning employees who talk about "approachable people, strong collaboration and openness to ideas". On hiring, the careers page says interviews are designed to be "fair" and "rooted in real work", that AI is used in recruitment but "people always make the final decisions", and that candidates are welcome to use AI tools to prepare as long as all materials reflect their own experience and voice. Adverts also invite candidates to tell their recruiter "what adjustments would help" during the process.

Work-Life Balance

Most adverts carry the same line under What You Can Expect From Us: "a degree of personal flexibility you might not expect. Plus, thoughtful perks, like flexible working hours and your birthday off." That wording appears in 53 of the 60 live adverts, across 36 different teams and in the UK, India, the United States, Canada, Ireland, Brazil, Colombia, Hungary, Slovakia and Czechia; it is missing from the two South Africa adverts, the Dubai advert and a handful of others. The adverts add a caveat: "Some roles lend themselves to flexible options more than others, so if this is important to you please raise this with your recruiter". No core hours or start and finish times are stated. Several adverts also mention early Friday finishes: "early Friday finishes" in the UK and Canada (no time given), "the last Friday of every month" in India (log out 3 hours early) and "14:00 on the final Friday of each month" in Colombia. UK adverts state "25 days annual leave (which increases over time) plus bank holidays", plus the option to purchase additional leave and a day off for your birthday.
