About Dolby
What is Dolby?
Dolby Laboratories Inc. (NYSE: DLB) is "the leading innovator in audio, video, and imaging technologies, committed to enriching entertainment experiences for audiences worldwide. From cinemas to live venues to homes and mobile devices, here at Dolby, our mission is to enable experiences that transcend expectations and reach the spectacular."
Founded in 1965 by Ray Dolby, the company's flagship technologies are now ubiquitous across entertainment: Dolby Atmos (immersive audio), Dolby Vision (HDR video), and Dolby Cinema (premium movie experiences). Brand campaigns include #DolbyCreatorTalks and #LoveMoreInDolby, and recent partnerships span Greta Gerwig's Barbie, Victoria Monét's RESONANCE, and BTS member Jin's "I'll Be There." The company is publicly traded and consistently named among entertainment's most recognised brands.
Where will I work?
Dolby's global HQ is at 1275 Market Street, San Francisco, with major engineering and corporate offices in Sunnyvale, Atlanta, Bangalore, Barcelona, and other locations worldwide. Most roles operate on a hybrid model, with engineering and corporate teams attending offices on a hybrid schedule. The company has 97 open roles across audio engineering, AI research, immersive systems, software, legal, sustainability, and field application.
What is the Dolby team like?
Dolby's tagline is "Transform the Future of Entertainment." The Eightfold-powered careers platform offers AI-powered match scoring for candidates: "Use AI to see how you match and get help on your career journey." Recent JDs note Dolby's "supportive, collaborative culture" and emphasise creative + technical depth — from VP of Immersive Systems to Senior Multimodal AI Researcher (Audio) to Sr Staff Architect, Google Tech Platform.
The HQ Experience Center hosts press, partners, and customer events at the 1275 building, including state-of-the-art labs and an on-site Dolby Cinema.
