About DOF
What is DOF?
DOF Group ASA (Oslo Børs: DOF) is a Norwegian offshore services company founded in 1981 in Austevoll, Norway. "The DOF adventure started at Austevoll, Norway in 1981. DOF was founded with the aim to be a leading participant in the growing North Sea offshore industry." The original business concept — "to provide a modern fleet of offshore vessels, and to engage these vessels on long-term contracts" — has expanded over four decades into a globally diversified offshore services operator.
Today DOF "provides a comprehensive range of offshore and subsea services to the offshore energy industry, worldwide and with the reputation for safe, efficient, and cost effective project delivery." Service lines span diving, ROV, marine vessel operations, survey & inspection, subsea projects, and engineering. The company is also actively building floating wind solutions for the renewable energy transition.
Where will I work?
DOF operates a global footprint with offices and vessels in major offshore hubs: Austevoll/Storebø (Norway HQ), Aberdeen (UK), Houston (USA), Perth/Kewdale (Australia), Paradise/Halifax (Canada), Macaé/Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), Luanda (Angola), Copenhagen (Denmark), Bergen + Haugesund (Norway), and Muntinlupa (Philippines). Investment in the last decade has prioritised the South Atlantic, Brazil, and Asia Pacific while continuing growth in the North Sea and West Africa.
Offshore roles work directly aboard the DOF fleet, in some of the most remote locations on the planet.
What is the DOF team like?
DOF describes its team as "a global team of skilled professionals who, combined with a fleet of state-of-the-art, purpose-built vessels, provide services to the Oil and Gas industry across the entire offshore life cycle." Five core values guide the culture:
- Respect — for colleagues, customers, partners, and the environment
- Integrity — "the very corner stone of our business. We behave ethically – always"
- Teamwork — "we build diverse and global teams and strive for free exchange of ideas, experience and knowledge, worldwide"
- Excellence — "resourceful and responsive to our customers' needs: innovative in the solutions we apply to everyday problems"
- Safe — "Above all we are SAFE: we are committed to protect the health and safety of our people and our environment"
Notable DOF stories: Daniella and Débora lead DOF's first all-female offshore command team; Marius progressed from ROV trainee to leader; multiple employees have transitioned from offshore vessels to onshore corporate roles.
Work-Life Balance
Offshore roles follow rotation patterns typical of the maritime industry: 4 weeks on / similar time off for North Sea operations, with longer 5-6 week rotations for international voyages. Specific patterns vary by vessel and role (sample seen in JDs: "4 weeks in North Sea + 5 weeks worldwide" for cadets; "4 or 6 weeks rotation" for galley crew).
