About Core States Group

What is Core States Group?

"Core States Group is an industry-leading architecture, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) firm trusted by many of the world's most notable brands." Established in 1999, it has "26 offices across the United States and Canada, and over 650 employees", and it "delivers speed to market, cost certainty, and compelling design for national multisite programs and projects." Its stated cause is "to create a world where all environments improve everyday life."

Its markets run from convenience stores, fueling stations and car washes, banks, credit unions, grocery, restaurants and retail to housing, data centers, semiconductor and industrial sites, EV charging and hydrogen fueling, and distributed energy such as battery storage, fuel cells, microgrids and solar. Its integrated in-house team covers architecture and interior design; civil, structural, MEP, fire-protection, power-systems, refrigeration and fueling-system engineering; land surveying and land-use planning; permitting; program management and general contracting, and it has provided engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services.

Where will I work?

In an office, at home, or a mix of the two. The home office is in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, and other offices include Philadelphia, Burlington (Massachusetts), Somerville (New Jersey), Minneapolis, Charlotte, Duluth (Georgia), Frisco (Texas), Tampa, Bellevue and Kent (Washington), Long Beach, Scottsdale and Toronto. Its postings promise "a flexible work environment that supports a healthy work-life balance, whether you're in the office, working remotely, or somewhere in between", and several are listed as remote. In October 2026 it is hiring an architectural project manager, structural, mechanical, electrical and civil engineers and designers, a BIM designer, accountants, an M&A project manager and permitting staff. Its architectural project manager is paid $40–$58 an hour, about $85,000–$120,000 a year.

What is the Core States team like?

"Our people collaborate across locations, services, and markets to deliver impactful programs and projects," the careers page says, guided by the values of "Integrity, Service, Inclusion, Excellence, and Innovation." Employees volunteer at the company's twice-yearly Days of Service, and Core University, an internal learning hub, builds skills across the firm. In 2024 Core States received the Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award for supporting employees who serve in the National Guard and Reserve.

Work-Life Balance

Core States lists "Summer Fridays" among its work-life benefits, alongside holidays and paid time off, and its postings describe them as "half-day Fridays during summer months". No source says which weeks they run. Paid time off is described as "Generous PTO time to help you recharge, relax, and maintain a healthy work-life balance", without a number, and parents get "Four weeks of fully paid parental leave".
