About Canary Technologies
What is Canary Technologies?
Canary Technologies builds hotel software: its postings describe it as "changing the game for hotels with modern software powered by Canary's hospitality-specific AI platform", and the company says it is "Trusted by over 20,000 Hotels in 125+ Countries" and serves "hotels, resorts and other lodging properties".
The platform spans digital arrivals and mobile check-in, kiosks and mobile keys, guest messaging, dynamic upsells, digital tipping and smart checkout, payments and fraud prevention, plus a Canary AI layer covering an AI Agent Studio, AI Voice, AI Guest Messaging and AI Webchat. Hotel groups named in postings include Wyndham, Marriott, IHG, Four Seasons, Rosewood and Best Western.
It was founded in 2017 by "longtime friends and industry veterans, Harman Singh Narula and SJ Sawhney", who "started Canary Technologies because they knew hoteliers deserved better, easier-to-use cloud solutions". Postings list backing from "Y Combinator, F-Prime, Brighton Park Capital and Insight Partners".
Where will I work?
"Canary is headquartered in San Francisco, the center of tech innovation, and New York City, the business and leisure capital of the world. Growing rapidly, we've opened offices around the world." The published office list is San Francisco, New York City, London, Dallas, Manila, Singapore, Gurugram (India) and Mexico City.
Hiring splits between both models: of 36 live postings, 19 are hybrid (mostly New York, with one NYC role specifying "comfortable in a hybrid environment (3 days / week in office)") and 17 remote — including Barcelona, EMEA, LATAM, France, Thailand, Indonesia and Philippines roles. A travel benefit applies across the team: "Team members are able to visit our offices across New York, San Francisco or Dallas when they choose, and are provided a travel stipend for doing so."
What is the Canary team like?
"Our team spans the globe, connected by our mission to modernize the hotel tech stack. We're a passionate group of hoteliers, technologists, and customer success professionals building the future of hospitality." Live hiring is weighted to commercial and product functions — sales, product, customer success, marketing, then engineering and operations. The published values are "We are open, honest & direct", "We do it today, not tomorrow", "We are resourceful", "We care" and "We make it happen". The careers page also lists "Training and career development", "Regular team building events" and "Internal promotions from within the team".
Work-Life Balance
The one recurring policy, printed on every live posting, is Canary Days: "As a company we want to ensure that the team has time to recharge. Each month we provide company wide days off to ensure there is at least one extended weekend or day off."
That is a company-wide day off once a month, on top of normal working weeks. Canary does not publish a PTO allowance, a holiday count, or any compressed or reduced-hours working pattern on its own site or in any of its live job postings.
