About C.A. Fortune
What is C.A. Fortune?
C.A. Fortune describes itself as "a national consumer-centric integrated commerce agency built to help brands win at retail." It delivers "sales strategy, in-store execution, full-service marketing, and digital commerce through a single, fully integrated partner", with capabilities that "span the full shelf: from getting brands on it, to getting them off it." Its About page says it "was founded in 1983 and later expanded under current ownership in 2013", and now serves clients nationwide across conventional and natural retailers. Corporate roles on its job board include account management for Lowes Foods and Albertsons, a Director of Sales for Costco, paid media, category management and sales enablement, while most of the listings are field merchandising roles.
Where will I work?
The About page says "Our people are located across the country, and always happy to gather at our headquarters in Chicago's vibrant West Loop." The corporate postings are mostly remote: Client Partnership Director, Sales Enablement Manager and a Senior Advertising Manager are remote, and the Account Manager for Lowes Foods is "Remote, must be local to Winston - Salem, NC for In-person meetings at Retailer headquarters." The Category Manager is "Hybrid to Boise, ID office (with flexibility to work from home)", and one paid media role is hybrid in Chicago. The Lowes Foods role lists travel of "less than 10%". Field Supervisor roles are based in Los Angeles and Huntington Park, California.
What is the C.A. Fortune team like?
The About page describes "a melting pot of expertise in sales, retail, e-commerce, marketing & advertising, and data & analytics" and says "Our people are our product". It says it surveys its teams routinely, "resulting in numerous Great Place to Work accolades, as well as an industry-leading Employee Net Promoter Score." Postings end with a "Come As You Are" inclusion statement encouraging applicants who meet most, not all, of the qualifications. The sales roles are quota-driven: the account manager role is "responsible for creating and executing regional or account specific sales plans that meet or exceed established sales quotas".
Work-Life Balance
Eight of the ten non-merchandising postings list "Summer hours (half day Fridays from Memorial Day through Labor Day)", with the two Field Supervisor postings omitting it, so the summer schedule applies to the corporate team rather than field roles. Time off also includes "PTO and Sick days", "11 paid company holidays per year", "1 Floating holiday" and "2 paid volunteer days per year", and "Work from home flexibility." Parental leave is "3 months fully paid parental leave (regardless of gender)."
