What is Basis?
Basis builds production-grade AI agents that perform end-to-end work for accounting firms — including 1065 tax returns, workpaper review, and exception flagging. Founded in 2023 and headquartered in New York, Basis works with ~30% of the Top 25 accounting firms across CAS, Tax, and Audit practices.
In February 2026 Basis announced a $100M Series B at a $1.15B valuation led by Accel, with participation from GV (Google Ventures), Lloyd Blankfein, and existing backers Khosla Ventures (Keith Rabois & Vinod Khosla), Nat Friedman, Daniel Gross, Adam D'Angelo, Jeff Dean, Jack Altman, Noam Brown, and others. Total funding ~$137.6M.

What is the Basis team like?
Approximately 130 employees across applied ML, engineering, deployment / customer education ("Deployed Intelligence"), GTM, and operations. The internal "Atlas" team builds agent-native automation across engineering, sales, and talent.
