About Avant
What is Avant?
Avant is a Chicago financial technology company. Its About page says "Since 2012, people have looked to Avant for the solutions they need to take charge of their financial lives", and states its mission as to "empower them with innovative solutions designed to help them reach their goals". The page gives its size as 250+ employees and 4M+ customers served, with Chicago as its home base. Its products are personal loans (debt consolidation, emergency, home improvement and installment loans) and a credit card, and it notes that "Avant branded credit products are issued by WebBank".
Where will I work?
Avant's roles are based at its Chicago headquarters in the Merchandise Mart (222 W Merchandise Mart Plaza, Suite 900). The postings say "our hybrid schedule (M, T, Th in-office) enables flexibility to balance work and individual priorities" and list a "Flexible Work Environment - (i.e. Mon/Tues/Thurs in-person)". All ten openings on 2026-10-17 are posted at "Chicago HQ", so these are hybrid office roles rather than remote ones. One of them, a Senior Analyst in Fraud Analytics, is the exception to the usual week: it "is scheduled Thursday through Monday and requires weekend availability".
What is the Avant team like?
The careers page calls the team "known for our authentic and collaborative approach, our focus on belonging, and our culture of helping and learning", and lists five values: authenticity, collaboration, problem-solving, customer and initiative. A Treasury employee quoted there says "Avant strips the red tape down so you don't have to jump through hoops to make good ideas happen". The open roles span legal, credit reporting, risk management, fraud analytics, analytics engineering, internal audit and SOX, accounting and tax. The Senior Analyst, Credit Reporting posting is straightforward about the pace: it asks for the ability to "thrive in a fast paced and dynamic environment" and to manage "multiple priorities and statutory deadlines at once".
Work-Life Balance
All ten postings list "Summer Fridays" in their benefits block, and the careers page lists "Flexible PTO". Neither page says which Fridays, how many or what time the day ends, and neither gives a number of vacation days: the postings say only "Flexible Time Off". This profile therefore does not claim a full day off or any particular allowance. The postings also describe "Generous Paid Parental Leave, Adoption Assistance and Post-parental leave ramp-up program", without stating its length.
Perks and Benefits
Each posting lists a "Choice of great Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance Plan options" and a "401(k) match", and says the roles are "eligible for additional incentives, including an annual bonus". The office perks are a "Lunch Allowance (Fooda) and In-office Snacks" and "Fun In-Office and Virtual Social Events". The postings publish a base salary range, for example $50,000 - $70,000 for the Senior Analyst, Credit Reporting role.
